Up the Mountain Pass

Hello, friends!

Quick update and a little art for this month.

Design docs for the fourth-to-last story module are complete, and I am now implementing them. This should be completed by the end of October. Getting into the heart of the story now. The rest of these modules will be fun for me as a writer.

On the public demo front, I completed a series of improvements to the manor construction workflow, and I'm now working on an uplift for the crafting system. I swear the original dialogs I made for this look like something from a website in the 1990's. But I feel a lot more confident today about creating both the layout and appearance of these. It's one of those areas of the game that I had difficulty getting help for, so I just had to get better and better at doing it myself. I still see areas of improvement, but I wouldn't be embarrassed to release with these now.

I'll show off the current state of the manor interface soon...

Looking through the backlog now, I am pleased to see that the list of pre-demo issues is surprisingly manageable. Completing those in a January/February timeframe is still reasonable. The post-demo backlog is a tall troll-infested mountain, but I am not driven mad by the mere sight of it. I will get there, and I will reach the summit.

But that's all for now. You should get yourself a nice warm beverage. Autumn is here!
