Road Map

Hello, friends!

I was reviewing the roadmap a few days ago and figured it might be a good time to share a progress update.

The next big milestone that we're aiming for is a state that I call "Demo Complete."  I should say that it's not the only thing that I'm working on, nor even what I'm mostly working on (when considering content development and contract work), but it's the next place on the path where I can really open up and show how things are going.  Demo Complete means that I have a demo of the game showing most of the core features that is good enough to share with the public.

Based on some rough estimates while looking at the backlog, I'd say that Demo Complete would take about two dedicated months to reach from our current state.  So based on the amount of time that I'm actually putting into reaching DC, that means it will be about 6-8 months.

I would like to say that I will be giving you a demo at that time, but I will first be doing another round of business talks to see if I can get a marketing partner.  I will probably open a Steam page around then, in any case.  And maybe...  maybe the demo will be available through early access--or some other mechanism.

Most of the art for DC is already done, aside from a big package that is coming in soon to redo the main manor interface.  Voiceover work is effectively complete for DC, aside from a few optional additions I might request.  And the writing/scripting was mostly done four years ago.  The bulk of the remaining work is UI enhancements, story editing, debugging, and some extra spice for boss battles.  Plus some reworking of the card challenge system that should make it more compelling and intuitive.

So why don't I focus all my time on DC and get this thing out the door?  Well, I might do that at some point, but the truth is, I also need to push hard to get more content into the pipeline.  I have four significant story modules still to write, and the art team is up on my heels looking for more asset reqs.  I have to keep running in both lanes.  That means a later demo, but the finished product will take just as long.

I'm looking forward to the manor enhancements, though.  I'll be sure to let you know when they're finished.

And man, the VO I'm getting...  Love it.  Can't wait to share with you all.

That's all for now.  Take care, everyone.
