The Tilework

Hello friends!

Today I'm showing off a few of the dungeon maps that I've put together. I don't usually want to reveal much of these for a few reasons. One is spoilers, but also, I don't feel like they're the most impressive of art pieces. The intent is for these to be functional, giving a sense of location with a few bits of ludonarrative sprinkled here and there. They are meant to be abstract.

Each one of these maps is made up from rectangular tiles that you will move through while exploring, revealing challenges and secrets as you go.

Some of these maps will be procedural, but most of them are hand crafted. At the moment, there are 40 bespoke maps in the game. I'm working on three more right now, and there will be more in the final story module. So the final count will be somewhere between 45 and 50.

Now that I see that number, I have to sit still here, and just blink. I need a minute.

I didn't think I had this many.

Sheesh.

Anyway, I hope you all are having a wonderful holiday season! I'm in Prague right now, and we've got snow everywhere. It's beautiful, and a little inconvenient. But mostly beautiful.
